Work With Us as a Team Crew Member
JCE Tree Service has been climbing, cutting, and cleaning up after trees in the St. Croix River Valley for 25 years. We’re a local, family-owned business located in River Falls, and we’ve built the whole business around one rule: the standard doesn’t change, job to job. That means we’re picky about who’s on the crew with us.
What We’re Looking For
Someone hard-working and reliable, first and foremost. The kind of person who shows up on time and does the job right, even when nobody’s watching. Tree work experience, a CDL, and climbing experience are a plus, but not required. If you’ve got the right attitude, we’ll train you the rest of the way, and once you’re on the team, we’ll keep supporting you so you can meet the standard we hold everyone to.
Physical Requirements
This is physically demanding, outdoor work in all weather conditions. Crew members should be able to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly, work at heights (including climbing and aerial equipment), stand and move on uneven or wooded terrain for extended periods, and safely operate chainsaws and other power equipment.
What the Job Looks Like
This is a year-round position, 40–50 hours a week. In the job, you will be working in the St. Croix River Valley (River Falls, Hudson, Prescott, and the surrounding area), working as part of a JCE crew performing hands-on tree care. You will help with removing trees, pruning and trimming branches, clearing brush and storm debris, and grinding stumps, often using chainsaws, chippers, and rigging or climbing equipment. It’s physical outdoor work that requires close attention to safety, since the job involves working at heights, around power lines, and with heavy equipment.
Pay & Benefits
Pay is highly competitive and based on experience. JCE offers benefits including paid holidays, $200 per month toward purchase of your own health insurance, and 401k with 3% employer match.
Why People Stick Around Here
A lot of our crew has been with us for years, and every one of them trains on the same standard. We invest in equipment chosen to protect the properties we work on, so you’re working with the right tools. And you’ll be learning from a team that includes four ISA-certified arborists, two team members with forestry degrees, and decades of hands-on tree care experience.
